Last Updated: March 15, 2022 Update - The 2nd Challenge Cup is Sega's official VF5US (Known as VFeS in Japan) events for Japan running from January to March 2022! The Finals for the FREE and U22 categories this March will conclude the Season 0 events! Since the 1st Challenge Cup, several changes have been made to the format.

I think it is safe to say that outside of Japan, many players have had trouble finding matches quickly or have trouble finding people that you have a good connection with. Here, we are trying to make it easier for fellow VF players to network and play online.

The third update in three weeks! This is just a small update to fix a bug where if you play in a room tournament or league match, the title earned from the weekly beta tournaments disappears before the expiration date.

After Update 1.30 was released last week, some players encounter the "Akira Bug" - where your character is switched to a 10th Kyu-leveled Akira. Completing the match may result in the rank of the character you actually selected to reset to 10th Kyu. Sega released Update 1.31 to fix this issue, in addition to other issues including the Shun drink points synchronization.

VF5US is getting an update worldwide on December 8, 2021 (December 7th for North America time zones)! Version 1.30 update includes the new DLC pack, adjustments to the Beta Tournament Event Mode, and the fan requested semi-transparent walls. The exact patch notes from Sega's website are posted below for your convenience.

With Ryu Ga Gotuko (RGG) Studios at the helm for VF5US / VFes it should probably come as no surprise to see this collaboration between two popular franchises, but for the VF series that has seen very minimal reference to other SEGA IP (Sarah as Ulala!), this is kind of a big deal!
